Connect with the community for a great cause!
You heard that right! We are changing things up next month with a networking + volunteer event in partnership with Harvest Pack, a local nonprofit that addresses food insecurity by supporting volunteers in bringing meal packing events to their local communities.
At Caspian Group, part of our mission is to make the world a better place. We believe in putting our people first and giving back to the community that has provided so much for us. Join us for an opportunity to give back to a great cause while connecting with others in your community.
Volunteer and pack meals for the community and stay for the conversation with local real estate professionals.
We believe in what Harvest Pack is doing for our community and internationally and we invite you to come and learn more about them, while we network and pack meals. With the event a week away, we thought it would be appropriate to share why we chose our partner Harvest Pack for our charity to promote.
Who Is Harvest Pack?
Founded in 2012, Harvest Pack is a 501(c)(3) humanitarian hunger relief nonprofit organization. Harvest Pack addresses food insecurity by supporting volunteers in bringing meal packing events to their local communities. Harvest Pack’s healthy meals are then donated to established nonprofit partners who distribute to food insecure communities. Though Harvest Pack’s primary focus is fighting hunger in the U.S., we are proud to support global needs with selected international organizations as well.
How did Harvest Pack get its start?
Harvest Pack became a dream of William McNally’s after a mission trip to Belize, where he met a street performer who shared in casual conversation that he had not eaten that day. William gave the man a few dollars, upon which he thanked William and called him “an angel”. The man immediately packed up his trumpet and went to the tiny store just down the street, where William could see him purchase beans, bread, & toilet paper. “If that’s all it takes to be an angel,” William thought, “I’m in.” After returning to Minnesota, William volunteered in local food shelves and meal packing organizations, and in 2012, Harvest Pack was born – envisioning a world where healthy food is accessible to everyone, regardless of where they were born or how much money they have; a world where people come together to help one another simply because it’s the right thing to do. Since then, Harvest Pack volunteers have put over 7 million meals on tables of their neighbors near and far.
What Is Harvest Pack’s Vision?
We envision a world where healthy food is accessible to everyone, regardless of where they were born or how much money they have; a world where people come together to help one another simply because it is the right thing to do.
How does Harvest Pack help?
Harvest Pack recognizes that hunger is the world’s #1 health risk. Hunger-related issues spill over into struggles with housing, safety, education, mental health, community, and all other aspects of life. In 2017, 40 million Americans suffered from food insecurity, including more than 12 million children. It is estimated that about 700 million people worldwide struggled with food insecurity in 2018.
